Stop Taking Action  – Have a nap instead!

Do you believe any of these old adages?

  • You have to work hard to get what you want
  • Nothing ever comes easy in the this life
  • You have to put the hours in to achieve success
  • Set goals and stick to the action steps.

If so, you are not alone.  But what if I told you that this type of thinking was outdated and if anything, working hard could be actually preventing you from getting what you really want?   What if you could Stop taking action and instead, work on how it would feel to have everything you wanted?

The Stream of Life

If you are familiar with my work, you will know how I explain much of life using a simple stream analogy.

It’s very simple.   When you are struggling, or taking any type of action that doesn’t feel good, pushing yourself to do things that you think you should do,  it is like trying to force a  canoe upstream.   Your emotions tell you this as you will experience negative emotion.   Forcing a canoe upstream is often hard work, exhausting and you don’t get very far.

However, when you are feeling good, only taking action that feels good or just having fun in the process, , you are allowing your canoe to float effortlessly downstream.  Your emotions tell you this as you will experience positive emotion.

Over 18 years ago when I first became a Life Coach,  it was all about setting goals and then working out the action steps that you needed to take in order to achieve those goals.  Each action step often came with a deadline or timeline.

What this outdated process didn’t take into consideration was that many people felt that the action they needed to take felt upstream.  Or to put it more simply, it didn’t feel that good to them.  In fact, it felt like Effort and in many cases, this effort needed motivation.    Another reason for this is also that the goal was actually something they felt they should do – rather than a goal that had been designed around their personal preferences.

It is not about working hard.

These days, my work as an  award winning Life and Confidence Coach has developed to assist thousands of people to get what they want, without the effort.  You see any effort upstream is counter productive.   In fact, you are better off stop taking action and take a  nap instead.

Downstream

If you really want to get what you want easily,  you need to stop taking action and learn to focus upon setting your vibration first.  Then  ( and only then) should you take  inspired action. ( action that feels good to you).

Vibration is all about your feelings.   For example, if you want more abundance in your life or more clients for your business, then setting your vibration may include the following:

  • Feeling how good it would feel to you to have more money / clients
  • Tapping into your own personal preferences to what this would mean to you.
  • Conjuring up in your body, how you want to feel once this desire is complete.  (e.g Relief, successful, thriving, ease etc)*  This is a personal process which may differ for everyone .

All of the above are feeling processes.  No cold calling required. No chasing clients required or spending hours at networking events.  No visits to the bank or arranging an overdraft ( unless this feels good to you!)

In the words of Abraham Hicks…

It’s not your work to make anything happen. It’s your work to dream it and let it happen. Law of Attraction will make it happen. In your joy, you create something, and then you maintain your vibrational harmony with it, and the Universe must find a way to bring it about. That’s the promise of Law of Attraction.
