I am delighted to be asked to be a guest speaker for Aspire Higher which is part of the Uni Connect project at the University of Northampton. Aspire Higher works on a range of projects that encourage secondary school students to make well-informed decisions about their next steps into higher education.
The event ‘ Keep Calm and Stress Less with Aspire Higher‘ is part on an online Easter Stress event which will be run through the Aspire Higher You Tube channel. The aim of the event is to support students in years 11, 12 and 13 with advice, tips and techniques to develop their emotional resilience, mental wellbeing and stress levels. The event aims to look at these topics generally but then also to focus on learning/revising from home and how this can support students in the lead up to (possible) exams.
How to be Confident
My involvement in the ‘ Keep Calm and Stress Less with Aspire Higher’ is to record a 15 to 20 minute session on self-confidence and how to be confident and feel good in the world we live in today.
Having worked with numerous schools, teachers and universities as well as young people, I know how important the topic of confidence can be and in particular, learning to feel good even during stressful situations such as a pandemic. Therefore, I am really pleased to be involved in this fabulous project.
